Benjamin Leclercq, aka Madben, has grown up in Northern France, a few kilometers away from the Belgian border. He discovered electronic music at the end of 90’s and started to check out Belgian clubs where those electronic vibes were already very trendy. Benjamin decided to start djing when he moved to Lille in 2000. Benjamin began composing as soon as he arrived in Orleans in 2007.
What thrilled him that much? To see those happy faces and bodies moving to the rhythm of the floor on his musical pieces and dj sets. Influenced by the techno sounds of Detroit and Chicago, tinged with European techno, his dj sets and his compositions have one purpose: to rock the dancefloor!
The compositions of Benjamin are quickly acclaimed by Laurent Garnier, who made the honour to broadcast four of his songs on his radio show « It Is What It Is. » Dave Clarke played his songs on his radio show « White Noise ». Benjamin’s work is regularly highlighted by renowned producers such as Agoria, who ranked his song « Promised Land » as a hit of the summer 2011 in the « Dj Mag » magazine. Ian O Donovan’s playlist « F.. track » in the radio program « Transition » by John Digweed, and Paul Hamill aka Psycatron plays « Fire in the hall » in his radio show « Across the Line » broadcasted on the BBC.
Benjamin signed his first tracks on various European labels: Logos Recordings (MAC), Hype Muzik (UK), Bastardo Electrico (IRE), Blooming Soul Records (FR), Deep Movements (FR), Bass Pressure (FR), Exit Audio (FR) or again Atelier Electronique (FR)
… And before the end of 2012, Benjamin will release two new projects in 12 inch and digital: « We want to rave on » for the debut of Astropolis Records and « Dual » in collaboration with Ian O’Donovan who will come on the Belgian’s Electronical Reeds label.
