BIOGRAPHY

Considered by Trax Magazine to be techno’s last hope, in the past three years Madben has set fire to the top dance floors throughout France, including Transmusicales (Rennes), Scopitone (Nantes), Marsatac (Marseille), I Love Techno (Montpellier), and not to mention Montreal’s Picknic Electronik…

Benjamin Leclercq, aka Madben, has grown up in Northern France, a few kilometers away from the Belgian border. He discovered electronic music at the end of 90’s and started to check out Belgian clubs where those electronic vibes were already very trendy. Benjamin decided to start djing when he moved to Lille in 2000. Benjamin began composing as soon as he arrived in Orleans in 2007.

In three years, Madben seems to have burned the steps with the same infernal rythm that he burns dancefloors. If yesterday, Madben was considered rising new talent of techno (by Trax Magazine), he is nowadays the worthy inheritor of Laurent Garnier or Agoria and acclaimed by them, but also beyond the frontiers. Supported by Dave Clarke, Carl Craig, Skudge, John Digweed or Ben Sims, Madben has built a strong reputation among big producers.

Revealed on Astropolis in 2012, Madben has performed on the best festivals and clubs in France since it, with gigs at I Love techno, Les Transmusicales, Scopitone, Marvellous Island, Marsatac or Panorama and Rex Club, Ubu or Social Club. In the three past years, he played in the major places of Electronic music in France, and also few gigs abroad in Montreal, Bruxels, Skopje, La reunion…

While he improves and enrich his experience, Madben has gained reputation with a few acclaimed releases in 2013 & 2014 : “We Want To Rave On” on Astropolis Records, “Dual” with Ian O’Donovan, “Neighbours” on Bedrock, « My mad strings » on Goldmin music…

The future seems to be as flourishing as the past few months with news EP’s announced soon on nice imprints… Madben has also built a new live project who mix the music with single visuals in a special configuration, called « Cymatics ».
